There are several types of bullying which can occur at school. (For more information on the different types, check my other article on bullying). If you feel like you're a victim of bullying, tell someone! You may be afraid to tell, however it's the best advice I can give. Keeping quiet about bullying is never good as bullies will feel like they're getting away with it.
All throughout high school you do exams, however when you reach your last couple of years, you may start to notice that the school work becomes harder on you and you may start to feel stressed. You will have to take a series of exams in your last year which will all depend on what you've learnt over the years. If you feel like you are one of the many students who struggle with exams, here are some tips to help:
-Always give yourself time to revise. It doesn't matter if you don't know what's going to be in the exam, just make sure that you leave plenty of time to revise different topics.
-Get plenty of sleep before the exams, lack of sleep can also cause stress.
-Keep hydrated and try not to dawn on the fact that you're taking exams. Thinking about it too much will stress you even more.
Low confidence occurs in many teenagers, although it is more common in girls. People have low confidence for many different reasons. Whatever the reason, low confidence will usually lower your mood at school. If you feel that your confidence is quite low, i would recommend speaking to a friend or parent. Even just speaking about it will hopefully make you feel somewhat better.
If you are a student who feels like they aren't achieving very well at school, here are some tips you could follow:
- Try your best in class. If you don't understand something-ask. Keeping quiet won't help as the teacher won't know that you're stuck.
- Go to after-school clubs/ revise at home. This will help you understand a subject better.
-Speak to your teacher. If you feel like you aren't doing as well as your classmates, tell someone. It's likely that if you let your teacher know that you can't do a particular subject then you will receive more help. The more help you get, the more likely it is that you will see your grades start to improve.
These are just a few problems you could face during school and in no way is my advice professional. Feel free to check our more school articles which are found under 'Social Life' on our website.
