~ Our Mission ~
Our mission is to try our hardest to help other teenagers across the globe through sharing our own stories and experiences, and how we cope.
~ About Us ~
Teenagers With Experience (TWE) is a website set up by teenagers, for teenagers to help with many issues that fit into our four main categories Mental Health, Sexuality & Gender Identity, Social Life and Educational. Mental Health articles include anything that is classed as a mental disorder, such as; depression, anxiety, sleep issues, OCD and more. Sexuality & gender identity provides the reader with feelings of normalness and provides articles for educational purposes to inform the reader of sexualities, feelings and genders they may not be aware of. Social life consists of articles that include other people and school, for example; bullying, friendship, family and emotions. Our new category; Educational, provides readers with informative articles. Some of the themes include; religion, feminism and pets.
~ Origins ~
TWE was first set up on the 25th of November 2016 by our founder Emily Taylor. It was originally set up as a place to provide teenagers with emotional support when speaking to adults scared them, made them uncomfortable or similar. Giving teenagers a space to see they aren't alone in their situation and that whatever they are dealing with is normal. Writing and being a member of TWE also gives the members a sense of purpose and allows them to turn their negative emotions and past experiences and create something positive with them.
